The mission of the the Friends of the Stoneham Library as a non-profit educational charity, is to foster a community of volunteers and donors that want to support the cultural life of the community through good library services.  
The primary goals and activities of the charity are: 
  • To build an engaged community based volunteer organization that is enthusiastic about supporting the Stoneham Library
  • To organize and run events that the community enjoys and helps raise awareness of the library and its programs  
  • To encourage gifts, endowments, memorials, money or other materials beyond the resources of the library budget
  • To donate all funds raised, to the Stoneham Library in support of its Children, Teen and Adult services and programs
  • Advocate for the public library at the town level to ensure ongoing support and funding 
  • To support the very talented team of library staff with volunteers for special projects at the library
